What makes Julia Landon’s core academic program different from the rest?
Students work with teachers dedicated to hard work and success for all students. Every core class, Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, follows the advanced program for that content. No standard coursework is offered, however, enrichment reading, math and writing courses are offered to students requiring additional support. Students staffed for gifted services will be assigned gifted coursework. All Julia Landon teachers hold the gifted endorsement or are currently working toward earning the endorsement.

What are the school hours?
School begins at 8:10 a.m. and dismisses at 2:55 p.m. Students may not be dropped off in the morning prior to 7:30 a.m. Extended Day is an after school program offered five days a week until 5:30 p.m. A fee is associated and currently stands at $110.00 per month, per child. This fee could be altered year to year.

What athletics and extracurricular programs are offered?

Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 may try out for a place on any of the variety of athletics teams at Julia Landon including Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Swimming, Track, Baseball and Softball. Julia Landon is committed to developing our student-athletes both on and off the field.
Extracurricular activities include National Junior Honor Society, Scholar Bowl, Math Field Day Team, Drama Club, Chess Club, Robotics Club, Running Club, Ambassadors, and Student Government. Students also participate in an annual Scripps Spelling Bee.
All students participate in a year-long Leadership Course that is vertically designed to begin in 6th grade and culminate in 8th grade. Additional electives a student may be assigned include Art, Spanish, Music, Journalism, Gifted Elective, Physical Education and Health.

Are students attending Julia Landon given program continuity to Paxon School for Advanced Studies and Stanton College Preparatory School?
Students attending Julia Landon College Preparatory and Leadership Development School will be given program continuity to Paxon School for Advanced Studies, Stanton College Preparatory School, Samuel W. Wolfson School for Advanced International Studies and Leadership, and Darnell-Cookman School of the Medical Arts (Grades 9 – 12).
